Song: Good as Hell by Lizzo

I hope the answer to the question ‘how you feelin?’ is good as hell, but after last year, and 2021 quickly revealing itself to be 2020 part 2, it’s OK if you’re not feeling good, or even feeling meh. The real thing here is to check-in with yourself often.

Write down what you like about your life, what you’re doing right. Then write down areas of improvement. An example could be: oh man, I haven’t been showering as much as I should. Would like to develop better nighttime hygiene routine. (Don’t look at me like that! Showering was one of the first things to go during the transition to work from home. Read about it here.)

That was a bit of a tangent. Sorry. Afte ryou write down what you want to improve, write down what’s not working in your life. Tired of not having energy? Feeling bloated from a bad diet? Get specific, and then write down suggestions on how you can either eliminate or improve what’s not working. So for low energy, try exercising, stretching, getting enough sleep and water.

“I’ll do that tomorrow.” “I don’t feel like it.” “I have writer’s block.” “Why can’t I find inspiration?” We’ve all said this. Heck, I’ve said 3 out of the 5 of these examples already today. To Lizzo’s point, you have to be your own inspiration, your own motivation. No one else is going to push you. Inspiration isn’t going to walk through the door. You cannot keep waiting for the right moment because there is no right moment.

In full honest, the first thing my lazy butt thought of when writing that sentence was ‘there is no right time to go to the gym’ lol I hate the gym, but I still go because I know that being healthy is important to me. The right moment is when you make it that moment.

One of my favorite quotes is ‘you have to be your own cheerleader.’ I’ve got my pom-pom ready because there finally is an I in this team.

I can’t stress enough the idea to drink water and stay hydrated. Did you know 60 percent of Americans are dehydrated? I’m joking, it’s actually 75 PERCENT of Americans who are not only dehydrated, but CHRONICALLY dehydrated.

But luckily drinking more water is a simple fix. Remember to always carry a water bottle or even download a free water reminder app where you can set it to remind you to drink water every 40 minutes, every hour etc. Yup, there truly is an app for everything!
